Lead
Guitarist Position
Description:
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation looking
for a lead guitarist for
our worship band. We currently have a keyboardist, a percussionist,
a guitarist who also plays mandolin, and several vocalists.
It is a worship setting with a contemporary, upbeat feel. Our
typical music
ranges from contemporary Christian rock to traditional Christian
hymns.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be skilled at lead guitar (acoustic preferred,
though electric guitar and/or bass may also be used) and
adept at performing as part of an ensemble. Ability to
sing is a bonus, but
not required.
This individual should be willing to work with other musicians
and the leaders of the congregation to provide a polished
and inspirational
music ministry.
Requirements:
Our lead guitarist must be able to help lead music at our
11:00 a.m. worship service held each Sunday morning. He/she
must be able to
attend rehearsal immediately following worship until 12:30
or 1:00 p.m.
Applicants are not required to be Lutheran or Christian,
but they should be open to participating in a Christian
worship setting and
should be aware and accepting that our purpose in worship
is to encourage Christians to praise God and to grow into
a deeper relationship with
God and Jesus Christ.
Salary:
A new lead guitarist would begin at $25 per Sunday.
Applications:
Completed applications may be submitted
in person, through regular mail, or e-mailed to Our Savior’s
(oslc1@sbcglobal.net)
by March 31, 2008. Eligible applicants will be asked
to interview with the Personnel Committee and rehearse
with the worship band
on a Sunday
as an audition. Click here for an application
